蒸藜炊黍餉東菑。
漠漠水田飛白鷺，
陰陰夏木囀黃鸝。

The long rain falls on the empty forest. Smoke rises
Over the cooking-pots where they are preparing to feast the neighbours:
With immense wings the heron flows on the ricefields.
In the deep shade the yellow heron is singing.
